UWE-3 - 5to cumpleaños

UWE-3 News: Awaiting UWE 4 ...
Since 21st of November 2013 UWE‑3 performs very well in space and is celebrating its 5th birthday in orbit today. Day by day we’re receiving great support from the Radio Amateur Community from all over the world. We’d like to thank you all very much for your great support over the past five years! Besides many others we’d like to send our warm greetings especially to JA6PL and G7GQW. Both of you supporting us day by day with beacons which report the good health condition of UWE‑3, including the nominal status of the batteries.
But wait – there’s more to come: UWE‑3 is awaiting UWE‑4 in space! Presumably on the 25th of December 2018 UWE‑4 will be launched from Vostochny Cosmodrome, Russia. The picture shows UWE‑4 shortly before the transportation to the launch side. The main mission of UWE‑4 will be the in-orbit demonstration of a miniaturized NanoFEEP propulsion system which is a novel technology provided by the University of Dresden. You can recognize these thrusters mounted in the end of the rails so the panel itself still can generate solar power.

UWE‑4 with Thrusters, Neutralizer and a new kind of sun sensors on each panel.
You will receive more details about the launch as soon as we can provide them. Stay tuned for updates in the next weeks …

Kind regards,
The Team of UWE‑4
